UNV Collaboration to Open New Avenues for SALU Students in Learning, Community Service, and Global Engagements

The Country Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Programme, Mr. Waseem Ashraf, called on the Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, during his official visit to the campus.

Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, known for fostering academic collaborations and student engagement at both national and international levels, warmly welcomed Mr. Waseem Ashraf. He appreciated the UNV’s pivotal role in promoting youth engagement and volunteerism worldwide, assuring full institutional support for such initiatives. He emphasized that partnerships like these play a vital role in peacebuilding and sustainable development through active youth participation.

Mr. Waseem Ashraf lauded Prof. Dr. Khushk’s leadership, particularly his dedication to student development and community engagement. He briefed the Vice Chancellor and university officials about various UNV opportunities, with a special focus on Online Volunteering designed for Shah Abdul Latif University students.

Prof. Dr. Khushk expressed confidence that this collaboration would open new avenues for SALU students in learning, service, and global engagements, enhancing their contributions to both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Coordinator, Students Societies Center, and Mr. Mohammad Hasan Halepoto, Director, Students Affairs, assured their active support in disseminating information and engaging students in the initiative.

During the meeting Mr. Muhammad Tilal ur Rehman, UNV Programme Associate; Prof. Dr. Irum Rani, Director, Quality Enhancement Cell; and Dr. Sahib Oad, Media Coordinator was also Present.

Later, accompanied by the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Waseem Ashraf met with all Deans and Heads of Departments at the Syndicate Hall, where he briefed them on UNV programs, shared thematic insights, and concluded the session with a group photograph.
