SALU Holds “Maarka e Haq” Walk to Celebrate Pakistan’s Independence

A vibrant walk rally was organized today at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, under the theme "Unity in Motion: A Tribute to Pakistan’s Independence," symbolizing the nation’s collective march towards freedom and progress.
The event marked the beginning of the 14-Day Marka-e-Haq Independence Celebrations Program, with participants marching from the Science Faculty to the Admin Building.
A large number of teachers, officers, employees, and students enthusiastically participated, chanting slogans in support of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army.
Addressing the rally, Vice Chancellor Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk commended the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces in defending the country and bringing global pride to the nation. He also paid tribute to the visionary and courageous leadership of Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir—recently elevated to Pakistan’s highest military rank—and the bold, professional teams of the Army, Air Force, and Navy, whose unwavering commitment continues to safeguard the sovereignty and honour of the nation.
"Sitting in our homes, we only hear news of what the army has done for Pakistan and the immense sacrifices they have made," he said. "We salute the leadership of the army, which has led with passion and defeated the enemy."
Dr. Khushk also highlighted the crucial role of teachers and educational institutions in shaping soldiers and leaders. "The credit goes to teachers and institutions who have trained such capable individuals to lead and defend the nation with dedication," he added.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for organizing 14-day celebrations in honor of Independence Day and the armed forces' victories. He noted that the Sindh government is hosting grand events, including musical shows and festivals.
"We are committed to celebrating these 14 days with full zeal, just as the army has served the nation," Dr. Khushk stated. "SALU employees pledge to serve the country and the university with the same dedication."
He announced that various programs have been planned across the main campus, sub-campuses, and 129 affiliated colleges. A special event will be held at affilated colleges Women’s and boys College on every Saturday.
Paying homage to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the founding leaders, Dr. Khushk emphasized that Pakistan’s independence and security are safeguarded by the sacrifices of the armed forces.
The rally concluded with prayers for the country, martyrs, and the prosperity of SALU.
The event was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellors Professor Dr. Wahid Bux Jatoi and Professor Dr. Ameer Ali Khuhro, along with deans, heads of departments, faculty members, and a large number of students.
Among the prominent other speakers were Deans Professor Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Professor Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jakhrani, Professor Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, and Professor Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Prof Dr Tasneem Pal, Prof Dr Agha Nadia , Sayed Muneer shah, Muhammad Hakim Phulpoto. Additionally, Heads of Departments (HODs) Professor Dr. Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman Abro, Professor Dr. Agha Nadia, and Professor Dr. Tasleem Abro, along with Model School teachers and students other faculty members and university officials, were present on the occasion.
The participation of senior academics and administrative leaders highlighted the university's collective commitment to celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day with enthusiasm and national spirit.
The 14-day celebrations will continue with various activities, reinforcing national unity and patriotism.
