Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur Mir's, organized a high-level session on the University Strategic Plan 2025-2030 under the Institutional Quality Circle (IQC).
The event, held at the Syndicate Hall of the Vice Chancellor's Secretariat, aimed to enhance understanding of the university’s strategic objectives and align departmental plans with its broader vision.
The session was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk, who emphasized the importance of strategic planning for elevating SALU to new heights of success.
"We are bound to follow and implement these plans to make SALU a better university. Within four months, we will review the achieved targets," he stated.
Dr. Khushk highlighted the five-year strategic plan, urging all departments to work collectively toward its timely execution. He stressed decentralization, empowering Heads of Departments (HODs) to take initiatives at their levels while adhering to the university’s seven key performance pillars.
The session featured Dr. Mohsin Kazmi, Assistant Professor at Sukkur IBA University and Strategic Planning Consultant, as the resource person. He explained that the strategic plan provides a roadmap for progress but remains flexible for updates as needed.
"Faculty members should secure national and international funding for research projects. Improving governance through regular meetings of Senate, Syndicate and others will strengthen financial and academic stability," Dr. Kazmi advised.
The Strategic Planning Committee, led by Convener Professor Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, presented a detailed document outlining the university’s future direction.
"After joining, the Vice Chancellor took numerous initiatives, giving us clear directions to move forward. We must set milestones and take everyone on board for successful implementation," Dr. Shaikh remarked.
Other committee members, including Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Dr. Irum Rani, Dr. Samina Rajpar, Dr. Munir Ahmed Kazi, and Dr. Zulfiqar Shaikh , Director Finance Kazi Nizamuddin and other participants contributed insights on research promotion, academic linkages, and MoU collaborations.
The event, conducted by Professor Dr. Irum Rani, saw active participation from PVC's Professor Dr Ameer Ali Khuhro, Professor Dr Syed Maqsood Zia Ahmed, Deans Professor Dr Ameer Hussain Shar, Professor Dr Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Professor Dr Naveed Ahmed Shaikh and Directors, and Heads of Departments.
