930 Aspirants Compete for PhD & MPhil Research Seats at SALU—Transparency and Excellence in Action Shah Abdul Latif University conducts smooth MPhil/MS and PhD Entry Test

The entry test for MPhil/MS and PhD admissions at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, was held successfully today.


The test was conducted across various departments, including Computer Science, International Relations, Political Science, Biochemistry, Zoology, Botany, Physics, Mathematics, IBA, Commerce, Public Administration, Urdu, Sindhi, Chemistry, Education, Microbiology, English and Pakistan Studies. A total of 930 candidates appeared for the test competing for 469 available seats.

During his visit to the examination centers, Vice Chancellor Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk interacted with the candidates and their parents, inquiring about the facilities provided. He emphasized the university’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent admission process.

The successful conduct of the entry test marks a significant step toward enhancing research and academic excellence at SALU, with new international collaborations expected to bring further opportunities for students and faculty, he added.

Dr. Khushk highlighted the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with a Turkish university, which opens doors for student exchange programs, joint research projects, and international funding opportunities.

"We are planning to hold meetings between Pro-Vice Chancellors, Deans, and Heads of Departments from SALU and the Turkish university to maximize the benefits of this collaboration," he stated. He encouraged faculty members to engage in joint research projects that could attract funding and benefit both countries.

He commended the efforts of the faculty members, administration and staff in maintaining discipline and transparency throughout the process.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Wahid Bux Jatoi praised the Vice Chancellor’s leadership in ensuring the seamless execution of the entry test.

Senior university officials, including Focal Person Postgraduate Studies Dr. Muneer Ahmed Qazi, IT Administrator Munir Ahmed Shah Rashidi, Imran Sommro, and Waseem Kalhoro, were also present on the occasion.
