SALU Observes Kashmir Black Day to Show Solidarity with the People of Kashmir

The Kashmir Society, a constituent body of the Students Societies Center (SSC) at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, organized a special event in line with the directives of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Khushk Meritorious Prof. to commemorate Kashmir Black Day, reaffirming solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and their ongoing struggle for self-determination.
The event featured insightful speeches by distinguished speakers, including Mr. Sarfraz Korejo, Dr. Ramzan Kolachi, Mr. Naseem Murad, and Syeda Shumaila Rubab Rizvi. Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Coordinator of the Students Societies Center, also joined the session online, emphasizing the importance of youth engagement and academic platforms in promoting peace, justice, and human rights.
The session was moderated by Mr. Asad Abbas, who underlined the vital role of youth awareness and peaceful advocacy in amplifying the voices of the Kashmiri people.
Speakers recalled that October 27 marks the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by Indian forces in 1947, a day remembered as a symbol of resistance and resilience by the Kashmiri people. They reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support for the just cause of Kashmir’s freedom.
At the conclusion of the event, students organized a solidarity rally, carrying banners and placards to express unity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
Meanwhile, various departments of the University also organized seminars and rallies to mark the day and express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
The observance reflected the commitment of SALU students and faculty to continue raising their voices for peace, justice, and human rights in Kashmir, reaffirming the University’s dedication to fostering global awareness and solidarity through academic and student-led initiatives.
