Orientation Meeting regarding Project "Protection of Rights of Women and Minorities in Northern Sindh" was held-

An orientation meeting regarding launching of project “Protection of Rights of Women and Minorities in Northern Sindh” was held at Bhittai Social Watch and Advocacy (BSWA) head office Khairpur chaired by Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur, Meritorious Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Khushk. Fozia Hanif Manager Programs and Abdul Jabbar Khaskheli Program Advisor, BSWA briefed the salient features of the project and highlighted the different activities since 2013 during the different projects conducted in collaboration with Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur. They apprised the Vice Chancellor about the project that; BSWA in collaboration with the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) Government of Sindh and with the cooperation of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), is implementing the project on the “Protection of Rights of Women and Minorities in Northern Sindh” which provides a viable platform to have debate, Dialogue discourse and develop strategies for the implementation of the WPS agenda in Sindh which requires concrete measures at social and political levels that would challenge existing gender stereotypes and pave the way for greater participation among women in the peace building and peace process. This project aimed at engaging academic institutions in building community resilience against extremist Tendencies and climate change impact through innovative and creative strategies that offer alternative narratives and opportunities to change academic discourse with a focus on women, peace, and security-issues in Northern Sindh, particularly. They briefed that the academic institutions will be made part of the Consortium in the first phase including; Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur, Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU) Sukkur, Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design & Heritage, Rohri, The Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur and The University of Larkano.
On this occasion Vice Chancellor Meritorious Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Khushk appreciated the endures of BSWA team for the community service, community engagement and youth building, he said that BSWA is continuously working with same spirit. He also appreciated the efforts of Khadim Hussain Mirani Executive Director, BSWA and his team for contributing for the civic engagement and maintaining close liaison with Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur.  He assured that; we will work with spirit of devotion and commitment for the development, progress and betterment of Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur. 
Meanwhile Memorandum of Understating (MOU) was signed between Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur and BSWA for two years as part of academic linkage, capacity building of youth, seminars and trainings.

Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Academic Advisor BSWA, Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Assistant Professor, Focal person of the project, Habibullah Mallah, Board Member, BSWA, Ali Gul Mallah, Incharge DIB Khairpur, Waseem Gul PA to Deputy Commissioner and Waseem Kalhoro, PA to vice chancellor were present.
