A grand Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) gathering titled "Interfaith Harmony in the Light of Seerat-e-Tayyiba (PBUH)" was organized at the Student Society Center of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. The event was arranged by the Institute of Islamic Studies in collaboration with Radio Pakistan Khairpur.
The ceremony was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khushk emphasized that Eid Milad-un-Nabi is not merely an occasion to express love and reverence for the Holy Prophet (PBUH), but also an opportunity to reflect on how deeply his teachings are embedded in our daily lives.
He highlighted that the Prophet (PBUH) gave humanity an enduring model of knowledge, justice, compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, and respect for human dignity. Dr. Khushk stressed that in today's rapidly changing world, the message of Seerat-un-Nabi is increasingly relevant, particularly for young people.
The Vice Chancellor further stated that universities bear a special responsibility to develop not only knowledgeable and skilled graduates, but also responsible human beings with strong character. "Knowledge without integrity and compassion remains incomplete. Our education must ultimately contribute to the welfare of humanity," he added.
Dr. Khushk urged students to demonstrate their love for the Holy Prophet through their conduct, by speaking the truth, honoring commitments, respecting differences, helping others, and using their knowledge responsibly for society.
Special guests included Professor Dr. Liaquat Ali Chandio, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Professor Dr. Sarfraz Korejo, Musarat Ali Mangi, Station Director of Radio Pakistan Khairpur; and Senior Producer Kaleemullah Sheikh stressed that promoting the message of love, tolerance, and fraternity from Seerat-e-Tayyiba is a critical need of the present era.
Professor Dr. Sajjad Ali Raisai, Director of the Institute of Islamic Studies, delivered a special address shedding light on various aspects of the Prophet's life, particularly emphasizing interfaith harmony, religious tolerance, respect for humanity, and social peace.
The gathering commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by students and faculty members presenting Naat (poetry in praise of the Prophet PBUH). Teachers from the Institute of Islamic Studies, including Mr. Abubakr Siddique and Ms. Hafiza Bano, also expressed their devotion by reciting Naats.
Other notable attendees included Dr. Nighat Parveen Sheikh, Professor Dr. Sahib Oad, Professor Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Shahid Ali Lashari, Sahib Khan Sheikh, Nad Ali Soomro, Ali Mir Maitlo, along with other university faculty members, officers, and a large number of male and female students.
The ceremony was hosted by Syeda Shumaila Rabab Rizvi, who effectively managed the proceedings while highlighting the message of love, mercy, tolerance, and respect for humanity from Seerat-e-Tayyiba.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of sweets among participants, followed by a group photo with distinguished guests, university administration, faculty members, students, Radio Pakistan staff, and media representatives. The event ended with a special prayer for the country's security, prosperity, peace, stability, and interfaith unity and solidarity.
