The Institute of International Relations and Peace Studies, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur, successfully organized a two-day International Seminar on "Pakistan's Strategic Role: Navigating Regional Geopolitics Amidst Zionist and Hindutva Ambitions". The event concluded with a keynote address by Dr. Syeda Nafisa Shah, a veteran parliamentarian and renowned scholar, as the Chief Guest.
In her address, Dr. Shah emphasized the imperative of distinguishing between the faiths of Judaism, Hinduism, and Islam, and the ideologies of Zionism, Hindutva, and Militant Islam. She highlighted that these ideologies are rooted in nationalist and supremacist agendas, often using religion as a tool for political power.
Dr. Shah condemned the imperialist nexus pursuing illegal war against innocent people in Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza, emphasizing that such actions are a threat to global peace and stability. She noted that Pakistan's strategic location and diplomatic efforts position it as a key player in promoting regional stability and countering extremist ideologies.
Highlighting Pakistan's transformation from diplomatic isolation to an active dynamic peace mediator, Dr. Shah said, "Pakistan has emerged as a proactive mediator in regional conflicts, leveraging its relationships with global powers to promote peace and stability."
Ambassador Jauhar Saleem emphasized China's crucial role in ending the war, citing its significant business partnerships with Iran. "China's strategic interests in the region and its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) make it a key player in promoting peace and stability. Pakistan's partnership with China can help facilitate a peaceful resolution to the conflict."
Syed Mehdi contextualized the historical genesis of Pakistan's creation, highlighting its role in deterring the Indo-Israel nexus against the Muslim Ummah. "The founding fathers of Pakistan envisioned a homeland where Muslims could live with dignity and security. Today, Pakistan's strategic location and diplomatic efforts are crucial in countering the growing Indo-Israel axis and promoting regional stability."
The seminar featured a range of academic perspectives, including:
- *Zionism as a Nationalist Movement*: A critical examination of Zionism's role in shaping Israel's expansionist policies and marginalization of Palestinians.
- *Hindutva and Minority Rights*: An analysis of Hindutva's impact on India's minority communities, particularly Muslims.
- *Militant Islam and Radicalization*: A discussion on the radical interpretation of Islam and its implications for global security.
Other distinguished speakers, including Dr Amjad Abbas Magsi and Col. Rtd Aaamir Hayat, shared their insights on Pakistan's strategic role and the challenges posed by Zionist and Hindutva ambitions.
The seminar concluded with a call for collective action to promote peace, stability, and cooperation in the region, emphasizing Pakistan's crucial role in navigating complex regional geopolitics.
