Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, organized a two-day international seminar on “Pakistan’s Strategic Role: Navigating the Regional Geopolitics Amidst Zionist and Hindutva Ambitions,” under the auspices of the Institute of International Relations and Peace Studies.
The seminar brought together prominent diplomats, scholars, and policy experts from Pakistan and abroad to deliberate on emerging regional challenges, shifting geopolitical dynamics, and Pakistan’s evolving strategic role.
The inaugural session was attended by distinguished personalities including Syed Fakhar Imam, Ambassador Qazi M. Khalilullah, Ambassador Dr. Masuma Hasan, and Vice Chancellor SALU, Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk.
In his address, Dr. Khushk highlighted Pakistan’s strategic importance due to its geographical position connecting South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. He emphasized that Pakistan continues to pursue a balanced and forward-looking policy based on dialogue, regional cooperation, and peaceful coexistence. He also underscored Pakistan’s contributions to global peace through UN peacekeeping missions, humanitarian efforts, and initiatives like CPEC aimed at regional connectivity and economic integration.
Chief Guest Syed Fakhar Imam gave his analysis on the title of Seminar and was optimistic about the role Pakistan is playing under the civil and military establishment and government of Pakistan. He also talked about the genesis of Zionism and Hindutva in detail . Further he spoken on Kashmir and Indus Water treaty as the unilateral and unjust action by Modi government as the source of Hindutva ambitions. Ambassador Masuma Hasan in her talk also appreciated the role of stake holders for enabling Pakistan at the global stage with balanced act with Regional & Global Power Players .Ambassador Qazi also gave his analysis based on research and his own experience being a career diplomat. Talking at the occasion Ambassador Atta ul Minum Shahid also featured his talk with intellect and sagacity.
The seminar featured multiple academic sessions, including “Academic Voices of Balochistan” and “Pakistan as a Stabilizer Amid the US–Israel–Iran Conflict,” where national and international experts shared insights on peacebuilding, strategic cooperation, and regional stability.
Notable speakers included Ambassador G.R. Baloch, Dr. Sarwat Rauf, Dr. Mukhit Assanbayev (Kazakhstan), and Jehan Perera (Sri Lanka), who highlighted Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional harmony and dialogue.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Yousuf Khushk appreciated the efforts of Director IRPS Mr. Sarfraz Ali Korejo and the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, for successfully organizing the seminar. He also thanked scholars and participants from within Pakistan and abroad for their valuable contributions.
The seminar first session concluded with a strong message emphasizing peace, cooperation, and the importance of academic dialogue in addressing global challenges.
