Shah Abdul Latif University hosts 1st Ph.D seminar on Nanomaterials and Environmental Research
Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) successfully organized its 1st Ph.D Seminar at the Institute of Chemistry, featuring groundbreaking research on nanocomposites and their environmental applications. The event, held in the Teachers Committee Room, brought together faculty members, researchers, and scholars to discuss innovative solutions for sustainability.
Mr. Fayaz Hussain Kanhar, a Ph.D candidate in Chemistry, presented his thesis titled "Synthesis, Characterization, and Environmental Applications of Nanocomposites: Graphene Oxide-Based." His research, supervised by Prof. Dr. Tajnees Pirzada and co-supervised by Dr. Khalid Hussain Thebo, explores the use of graphene oxide-based nanomaterials for water purification and pollutant removal, offering potential solutions to global environmental challenges.
Under directives of Vice Chancellor Meritorious Professor Dr Yousuf Khushk, the seminar was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jakhrani, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, who praised the scholar’s work for its scientific and practical significance in material science and green chemistry.
Dr. Muneer Ahmed Qazi, Focal Person of Postgraduate Studies conducted the proceedings of seminar.
Distinguished attendees included Faculty members Dr. Mumtaz Saand, Dr. Muzaffar Sirohi, Dr. Ameer Ahmed Mirbhar, Dr. Quratulain Shaikh, Dr. Jangir Patojo, and Dr. Sajjad Larik and numerous research scholars.
