Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur Mir's organized an appreciation ceremony to recognize the dedicated services of its Malhis and Beautification Section staff in connection with Students’ Week 2026 and the University Flower Exhibition. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor, Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk.
Certificates of appreciation were distributed among gardeners, Malhis, and supervisory staff who played a vital role in maintaining campus greenery and arranging vibrant seasonal floral displays across the university. The event reflected a spirit of teamwork, respect, and collective pride.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Dr. Khushk highlighted the extraordinary effort involved in managing more than 10,000 plants showcased during the exhibition. He praised the staff for grooming the flowers to perfection and attributed this achievement to exemplary teamwork and professional commitment. Drawing a thoughtful parallel between healthcare and horticulture, he remarked that emotional well-being can be uplifted simply by observing flowers, describing the Malhis as “doctors of pleasantness” who silently heal minds through beauty.
The Vice Chancellor added, “Universities are not built by walls alone—they bloom through human hands. When Malhis nurture flowers, they also cultivate hope, harmony, and learning. Today, from Malhi to officer and faculty member, we stand united in gratitude for those who color our academic life with nature’s poetry.
Speaking on the occasion, Pro-Vice Chancellor Wahid Bux Jatoi commended the staff for their outstanding contribution and appreciated the Vice Chancellor’s consistent tradition of recognizing excellence at every level.
Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences Professor Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh emphasized the vital role of support staff in the success of university events, particularly during Students’ Week 2026. He added that in many countries flowers and their colors are used in healing and wellness therapies, noting that natural beauty plays an important role in improving mental health and emotional balance.
Professor Dr. Farman Mangi convenor of the Beautification Committe , speaking from the perspective of physics, remarked, “As a professor of physics, I see the world through colors—light itself is a spectrum, and every color carries energy. When our campus becomes colorful, it reflects harmony in nature and inspires young minds toward creativity and discovery.” He praised the Malhis for translating science into beauty through their living artwork.
Director Beautification Section, Mr. Rashid Aamur, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for providing his section the opportunity to transform and “color” the university campus with natural seasonal plants. He thanked the administration for its trust and encouragement and also appreciated the role of the event committee convenor for effective coordination in ensuring the success of the Flower Exhibition.
Registrar Muhammad Hassan Halepoto and Controller of Examinations Lala Saifuddin Pathan also appreciated the Beautification Section for their tireless efforts, acknowledging their valuable role in making Students’ Week 2026 colorful, welcoming, and memorable.
The ceremony was attended by Kazi Nizam uddin Dr. Sahib Oad, Aijaz Ali Shaikh, and Aijaz Sial, along with faculty members and administrative officials.
Among the staff members honored were Barkat Khaskheli, Rauf Khokhar, Muzfar Khokhar, Bashir Ahmed Phulphoto, Ali Mardan Phulpho, Sikandar Ali Soho, Sharaf Chandio, Abdul Hameed Shaikh, Gulzar Ahmed Phalyo, Qurban Ali Abbasi, Gul Baig Noonari, Shakeel Ahmed Memon, and Jinsar Ali Shaikh.
The ceremony, held at the Academic Block, concluded on a high note. On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor also announced an Iftar Dinner in honour of the Malhis and Beautification Section staff, as a special gesture of gratitude for their sincere efforts in enhancing the university’s environment and contributing significantly to the success of Students’ Week 2026.
