Khairpur: Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur successfully concluded its Students’ Week 2026 after organizing more than 200 academic, cultural, sports, and co-curricular programs, including seminars, competitions, panel discussions, exhibitions, and creative activities, all conducted under the dedicated patronage and guidance of SALU faculty members.
The closing ceremony was graced by former Minister Mr. Mubeen Jumani and Member of Provincial Assembly Barrister Hallar Wassan, who distributed prizes and certificates among outstanding students.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mubeen Jumani appreciated the students’ enthusiasm, passion, and active participation in academic activities, stating that students’ energy and intellectual engagement represent national progress. He praised Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk and the faculty for their tireless efforts and assured his full support for the university whenever possible.
In his address, Barrister Hallar Wassan expressed great happiness over SALU’s rapid development, noting that the university’s progress directly contributes to the development of his constituency. Sharing his academic experience in the UK, he remarked that although he had participated in Students’ Week activities during his studies abroad, witnessing over 200 well-coordinated programs within a single week at SALU was truly remarkable. He congratulated the university administration and students on setting a new benchmark of academic and organizational excellence.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk stated that Students’ Week was not merely a series of events but a journey of confidence, creativity, and collective consciousness. He emphasized that education is not confined to classrooms—it shapes character, nurtures critical thinking, and builds responsible citizens. He further remarked that when young minds learn to question, express, and innovate, universities transform into vibrant intellectual communities and nations begin to rise.
The Vice Chancellor also thanked the distinguished guests for gracing the ceremony with their presence and acknowledged the untiring efforts of faculty members, support of national international Intellectuals, Scholars , Commissioner Sukkur Deputy Commissioner & SSSP Khairpur, media persons and role of BSWA and Sindh Govt ministy of Youth and Sports , all organizers, and administrative staff. He congratulated all students on the successful completion of Students’ Week and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in learning, creativity, and character building.
Following the speeches, prizes and certificates were distributed among position holders and outstanding students by the distinguished guests, the Vice Chancellor, Deans, and Heads of Departments in recognition of their achievements throughout Students’ Week.
The celebrations concluded with a grand musical evening, beginning with Shah Jo Waee, followed by soulful Sufi performances. Artists and students presented regional songs from Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir, Punjab, and Sindh, captivating the audience and beautifully reflecting Pakistan’s rich cultural diversity.
The vibrant performances and enthusiastic participation throughout the week highlighted SALU’s strong commitment to holistic student development through academic excellence, cultural harmony, and youth empowerment.
