In a significant outreach effort, the Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk, conducted an extensive visit across the campus, directly interacting with students and inspecting facilities.
During his walkthrough, Dr. Khushk visited classrooms and canteens, engaging with students to inquire about their academic experience and any issues they face. He specifically sought feedback on the quality and pricing of food available in the university canteens.
Highlighting the administration's commitment to student welfare, the Vice Chancellor detailed the substantial expenses borne by the government to provide transport facilities, aiming to create a more conducive environment for education. He encouraged students to opt for hostel accommodation, emphasizing that it saves valuable commuting time, allowing for greater focus on studies and personal grooming.
Dr. Khushk also urged students to maintain consistent class attendance and prioritize their academic goals. Furthermore, he called for active participation in the upcoming Students' Week, which will feature various activities such as essay writing and singing contests.
The Vice Chancellor particularly appreciated the efforts of media students, noting that their work in videography and photography positively projects the university's image. "When we own our things, things would be better," he stated, encouraging all students to take pride in their institution.
Addressing infrastructural needs, Dr. Khushk announced plans to upgrade internet facilities on campus and stated that mobile service providers would be contacted to improve network signal strength.
In a major announcement regarding financial aid, he revealed that scholarships for the fiscal year 2026-2027, benefiting over 300 students, will be advertised soon. He also outlined the disbursement schedule for pending scholarships, confirming that funds for FY 2024-2025 will be distributed to more than 300 students in February, followed by the distribution for FY 2025-2026 in May for another 300-plus beneficiaries.
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by a delegation of senior faculty and officials, including Deans Professor Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Professor Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Professor Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jakhrani, and Professors Dr. Liaquat Ali Chandio, Dr. Samina Rajpar, Dr. Inayatullah Bhatti, Dr. Ahmed Memon, Dr Mashooque Mahar, Dr. Shahida Ameer Chandio, Dr Firdous Bhugti, Dr Zahid Sahito, Dr Sahib Oad, along with administrative officers Waseem Kalhoro, Aijaz Mahar, Mujtaba Jatoi, and Ayaz Mari.
