SALU Khairpur Takes Preventive Measures Against Malaria and Dengue Through Anti-Mosquito Spray Drive
In a decisive response to the recent surge in mosquitoes and the associated threat of malaria and dengue, Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, has launched a comprehensive anti-mosquito spray campaign across its campus.
The extensive drive was carried out under the direct directives of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, with the objective of safeguarding the health and well-being of students, faculty, and staff by eliminating mosquito breeding grounds and adult populations.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Vice Chancellor Dr. Khushk instructed Mr. Aijaz Siyal, Administrative Officer (Residential Area), to immediately implement preventive measures in collaboration with the Malaria Office Khairpur to control the rising mosquito population — a common concern during this season that can lead to the spread of vector-borne diseases.
“The health and safety of our university community is our top priority,” said the Vice Chancellor. “This spraying campaign is a proactive step to control mosquito growth, reduce disease risks, and maintain a safe and healthy campus environment conducive to learning and research.”
The spraying operation, conducted with the technical support of the Malaria Office Khairpur, covered key areas of the campus, including student hostels, residential quarters, academic blocks, administrative offices, libraries, and green spaces. The university has also advised students and staff to cooperate with the sanitation teams and observe personal precautions.
The timely initiative has been widely welcomed by residents, students, and faculty members, who have expressed appreciation for the administration’s swift and effective action to curb the mosquito menace and ensure community well-being.
