Empowering Sukkur Region  Through Sports:  SALU Khairpur, Commissioner Sukkur, and DIG Sukkur Join Forces.

Commissioner Sukkur Fayaz Hussain Abbasi and DIG Sukkur Peer Muhammad Shah have teamed up with Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) to host "The Hope Run Marathon" on December 25, 2024. This landmark event  aims to showcase Sukkur Division's rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural beauty worldwide.

•⁠  ⁠Route: 42.195-kilometer route from Kot Diji to Sukkur
•⁠  ⁠Time: 8:00 am
•⁠  ⁠Participants: Open to all - national and international athletes, professionals, and enthusiasts
•⁠  ⁠Facilities: Accommodations, food, and other facilities for participants from remote areas

•⁠  ⁠Showcase Cultural Heritage: Highlight Sukkur Division's cultural heritage and natural beauty

•⁠  ⁠Host Large Sports Events: Organize initiatives promoting fitness, education, and nation-building

Commissioner Sukkur Fayaz Hussain Abbasi praised DIG Police Sukkur for conceiving the marathon idea, emphasizing its potential to promote fitness and community engagement. DIG Sukkur Peer Muhammad Shah expressed optimism that this event will be a unique milestone in Sukkur's history. Vice Chancellor Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushik assured SALU's full support for the event.

The event also saw participation from Deputy Commissioner Khairpur  Sayed Ahmed Fawad Shah and SSP Dr Samiullah Soomro Khairpur, patron  Lok Sahita  Sayed Muhammad Agha haroon , Saeed Bukhari , Khadim Mirani    ED  BSWA   along with a large number of academicians, sports personalities, NGOs, social activists, and representatives from the business community and highway departments of Khairpur.

This open marathon aims to bring together people from all walks of life, promoting a culture of fitness, health, and community engagement. By providing accommodations to participants from far-flung areas, the organizers aim to make the event inclusive and accessible to all.
