Khairpur: Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk, distributed laptops among students at the Ghotki Campus under the Prime Minister's Youth Laptop Scheme (Phase IV 2025) Addressing the students, the Vice Chancellor said that this initiative of the government reflects a broader vision where knowledge, technology, and youth potential come together to shape a progressive future. He described the laptop as a gateway to learning, research, and innovation, urging students to utilize it effectively, enhance their skills, and strive to become job creators rather than job seekers. He emphasized that today’s youth must lead Pakistan’s digital future with responsibility, creativity, and commitment.
Dr Khushk also appreciated the role of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan for its continued support in promoting digital access and empowering students through such transformative initiatives.
Earlier, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Maqsood Zia welcomed the Vice Chancellor and appreciated his continued engagement with the campus, noting that the institution is progressing under his leadership. Dr. Amjad Mughal, Focal Person for the scheme, highlighted the significant allocation of laptops to SALU and acknowledged the Vice Chancellor’s efforts in ensuring wider access for students. After the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor met with faculty members of the Ghotki Campus and encouraged them to focus on research projects, publications, and effective use of academic modules. He emphasized that with collective efforts, the campus can be developed into a model academic institution.
The Ghotki campus has a total enrollment of about 550 students across the departments of Computer Science, Business Administration, and English. Out of 130 selected students, 52 received laptops during the ceremony.
The campus focal person for the scheme, Mr. Naseeruddin Mahar, also addressed the gathering.
Faculty members and other attendees included Dr. Shahid Ali Mahar (Computer Science), Dr. Imran Ahmed Shah (Business Administration), Syed Mushahid Hussain Shah (English), Dr. Sahib Oad, and Waseem Kalhoro. The proceedings were led by faculty member Asif Ali Chachar.
