The Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk, visited the Allama I.I. Kazi Hall located in the Faculty of Natural Sciences building today. The hall had remained non-functional since 2022 due to damages caused by heavy rains and floods.
Under the proactive leadership and personal oversight of the Vice Chancellor, the historic hall has now been fully renovated and restored to functionality, marking a significant step towards the revival of academic infrastructure at the University.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Khushk emphasized the importance of institutional ownership and collective responsibility. He remarked,
“Institutions flourish when we take ownership of them. Reviving our academic spaces is not merely a repair of infrastructure, but a renewal of our academic spirit.”
He further assured that the hall would once again serve as a vibrant center for academic, intellectual, and extracurricular activities.
Highlighting the legacy of the venue, the Vice Chancellor noted that Allama I.I. Kazi Hall has historically been a focal point of scholarly engagement and student activities, and its restoration reflects the University’s commitment to revitalizing its academic environment.
The Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Professor Dr. Mustaque Ali Jakhrani, briefed that the hall had suffered extensive damage during the 2022 floods and remained unusable for a considerable period. He acknowledged the Vice Chancellor’s keen interest and decisive support, which made the timely renovation and restoration possible.
The visit was attended by distinguished faculty members and officials, including Professor Dr. Khalida Mahar, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali Talpur, Professor Dr. Shamroz Sahito, Dr. Majid Ansari, Dr. Quratulain Shaikh, Dr. Sahib Oad, Madam Azra Ansari, Zohaib Memon, Aijaz Mahar, and Waseem Kalhoro.
