Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, and the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD), Islamabad, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic collaboration, research, and development in the field of language and literature.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, and Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Director General, National Language Promotion Department , Islamabad at NLPD Islamabad .
The agreement aims to strengthen institutional cooperation for the promotion and development of Urdu and other national languages through joint academic initiatives, research collaborations, and scholarly exchange. Under this understanding, both institutions will work together in organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and academic programs focusing on language, literature, linguistics, and translation studies.
The collaboration will also facilitate joint research projects, publication of scholarly works, and the exchange of scholars and experts to enhance academic engagement between the two institutions. Both sides also expressed their commitment to supporting initiatives related to the documentation, preservation, and digitization of linguistic and literary resources.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Yousuf Khushk emphasized that such collaborations are essential for strengthening research and scholarly activities in the fields of language and literature, while Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar highlighted the importance of institutional partnerships in promoting linguistic scholarship and advancing the role of national languages in education and research.
Both institutions expressed confidence that the MoU will pave the way for meaningful academic cooperation and contribute to the promotion of language, literature, and cultural scholarship in Pakistan.
