Academic Leaders Gather at Islamabad Club Iftar Reception Hosted by a Scholar Dedicated to the Service of the Nation, Prof. Dr. Javaid Laghari; HEC Chairman Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar Graces the Occasion.
Islamabad:
An Iftar reception was held at the Islamabad Club, bringing together prominent leaders and representatives from Pakistan’s higher education sector in an atmosphere of goodwill, mutual respect, and collegial interaction.
The event was hosted by renowned Acadmician Prof Dr. Javaid Laghari, former Chairperson of the Pakistan Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Convenor of the HEC Task Force on Strengthening ORIC,and was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Chairperson, Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Among the distinguished participants were Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Dr. Sayeda Zia Batool, Director General, Pakistan Standards & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA), Mr. Murtaza Noor, and renowned scholars and academicians including Mr. Faisal and Mr. Muhammad Ali, along with other prominent leaders from higher education institutions.
Participants appreciated the Iftar gathering as a valuable opportunity not only for sharing a meal but also for engaging in rich and fruitful discussions among scholars, university leaders, and policymakers. The interaction reflected the spirit of dedicated professionals who do not allow any moment to go to waste. Important ideas were exchanged regarding the future of higher education, innovation, research, and commercialization, while possibilities for further meetings and collaborative initiatives were also discussed to achieve shared academic and institutional goals.
The participants thanked Dr. Javaid Laghari and appreciated his vision and continued efforts toward strengthening research, innovation, and commercialization in Pakistan’s higher education sector.
