Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has launched the People’s Information Technology Programme (PITP-II ) and Google Digital Journalism Scholarship. MoUs at CM House, Karachi. The landmark initiative will empower 35,000 students with advanced IT skills and provide 1,000 journalism scholarships, aiming to build a digitally empowered, future-ready Sindh.
Secretary IT Noor Ahmed Samo, DG Information Moiz Pirzada, and CEO Tech Valley Umer Farooq signed the agreements on behalf of their organisations.
The ceremony was also graced by Provincial Minister of Sindh for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Mr Sharjeel Inam Memon, Chairman Sindh Higher Education Commission Dr Tariq Rafi , and other distinguished dignitaries .
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Meritorious Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, also participated, underscoring SALU’s commitment to equipping its students with cutting-edge digital competencies. He appreciated the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, the dedicated efforts of the IT Minister, and the support of the Secretary IT in initiating programs that open new doors of opportunities for SALU students in IT and digital journalism, aligning with the University’s vision to prepare graduates for leadership in a knowledge-based economy. Vice chancellors of various universities of Sindh also witnessed the MoU ceremony.
