Syeda Shumaila Rubab Rizvi, a scholar of Institute of Islamic Studies,@Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, has secured an outstanding second position at the national level in the National Seerat Research Article Competition 2026, organized under the 51st National Competition of Seerat Books, Naat and Seerat Articles for the year 1448 AH/2026 AD by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Government of Pakistan.
The theme of the Seerat Research Article Competition was “Protection, Development and Character Building of the Younger Generation in the Light of the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ).” Researchers, scholars and academics from across Pakistan participated in the prestigious national competition. Through her research article, Syeda Shumaila Rubab Rizvi highlighted the academic, intellectual and contemporary relevance of the subject and earned second position at the national level.
In recognition of her remarkable academic achievement, she was presented with a shield and certificate by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, at a ceremony held in Islamabad. Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court, Justice Anwar Ali Shah, Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, and other distinguished personalities were also present on the occasion.
In addition to the national distinction, Syeda Shumaila Rubab Rizvi received a cash prize of PKR 90,000, which was presented to her the following day at the central ceremony in Islamabad by Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The two-day national programme commenced at the Arts Council, Islamabad, while the central ceremony on the second day was held at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad. Federal ministers, ambassadors from different countries, religious and academic personalities, spiritual leaders, and other distinguished guests attended the event. Among the prominent personalities present were Rana Sanaullah, Hanif Abbasi, and the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, along with other notable figures.
Syeda Shumaila Rubab Rizvi’s achievement is a significant recognition of her academic, research and intellectual capabilities and is a matter of great pride for Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Mirs, and its Institute of Islamic Studies.
