A comprehensive coordination meeting for the Pre-Entry Test 2027 was held at the Syndicate Hall of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, to review and fine-tune academic, administrative, logistical and facilitation arrangements for the test scheduled for October 13, 2026.
The meeting was chaired by Meritorious Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Vice Chancellor, SALU, and attended by the Pro-Vice Chancellors, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments and Institutes, Registrar, Director Admissions, heads of various committees, sectional heads and other concerned officers.
At the outset, Director Admissions Dr. Aamir Waseem Pathan gave a comprehensive briefing on the admission process, number and distribution of candidates, allocation of test blocks and the overall mechanism devised for the smooth conduct of the Pre-Entry Test.
The Pro-Vice Chancellors Khairpur Campus, Prof Dr Wahid Bux Jatoiee, Pro Vice Chancellor Ghotki Campus Prof Dr Maqsood Zia, Prof. Dr Mihoon Khan laghari Pro Vice Chancellor Shadad Kot Campus , shared their respective campus-wise preparations and inputs, covering the arrangements required for the coordinated conduct of the admission test at their campuses.
The Deans, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ali Jakhrani and Prof. Dr. Liaquat Ali Chandio, presented an overall review of preparedness within their respective faculties and shared their inputs regarding coordination among the departments under their faculties.
This was followed by detailed input from all the Heads of Departments and Institutes, who briefed the meeting on arrangements within their respective institutes /departments. Each Head shared the status of the test blocks, seating and seat-list arrangements, sequence and placement of candidates, invigilation duties of faculty members and other block-specific requirements. The department-wise review enabled the participants to assess arrangements at the operational level and identify areas requiring further coordination or support.
The Director Finance updated the house on the supply of required pre-entry test materials through the Store & Purchase Section.
The IT Section briefed the house on arrangements for the online issuance and downloading of candidates’ admit slips.
The Director Admissions added that a dedicated facilitation camp, with faculty-wise desks, would be established to provide admit slips on the spot to candidates who may arrive without them.
The Advisor Student Affairs shared the facilitation plan for candidates, particularly arrangements for their guidance and assistance from the time of their arrival on campus until they reach their respective test blocks. The meeting reviewed how candidates unfamiliar with the campus could be efficiently guided through designated facilitation and information points.
The Coordinator Student Societies also presented the volunteer support plan under which senior students associated with different University student societies would serve as volunteers on the test day. The meeting was briefed on their proposed deployment and management of duties at key locations to guide candidates, assist parents and families, and support the University’s overall facilitation arrangements.
The heads of various committees constituted for the Pre-Entry Test, including the Admission Test, Hall Management, Transport, Accommodation and other facilitation committees, presented their respective plans and state of preparedness. Each committee shared its responsibilities and coordination requirements, enabling all components of the test to be reviewed as one integrated institutional exercise.
Particular attention was given to the simultaneous conduct of the test for a large number of candidates. The meeting reviewed test-block management, seating plans, invigilation, deployment of teachers and supporting officers, movement of candidates, availability of examination material and coordination among different blocks. Additional deployment of University officers and staff, wherever required, was also discussed.
Arrangements for parents and family members accompanying the candidates were reviewed in detail. Suitable waiting and sitting arrangements, particularly for families and women, were discussed to ensure that accompanying visitors are properly facilitated without affecting the examination environment.
The meeting also reviewed traffic flow, parking and transport management, keeping in view the substantial number of vehicles expected on the test day. The Registrar briefed the participants on coordination with the District Administration and Police, whose continued cooperation with the University during major academic activities was acknowledged and appreciated.
The meeting was further informed that the Health Department had been approached for appropriate medical support and emergency preparedness. Arrangements concerning first aid and timely access to medical assistance were also reviewed.
The concerned officials shared preparations regarding drinking water, cleanliness, canteen and refreshment facilities, signage, information and facilitation points, and other essential services required for candidates, parents and visitors.
The concerned committees also presented the complete operational sequence for the test day, including the timely commencement and conclusion of the test, distribution and collection of examination material, coordination among test blocks, and subsequent processing and announcement of results in accordance with the established procedure.
Speaking during the deliberations, Vice Chancellor Meritorious Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk observed that the Pre-Entry Test is a collective institutional responsibility, in which every campus, faculty, department, committee and administrative section has an important role to perform.
“Thousands of young candidates will enter our campuses with aspirations for their future, accompanied by their families. Their experience here reflects our University. Collective ownership, coordination and mutual support will enable us to conduct the entire process smoothly, transparently and with dignity,” he said.
With more than 5500 candidates expected to appear for admission to various academic programmes, the meeting reviewed arrangements keeping in view an anticipated overall presence of more than 9,000 candidates, parents, family members and visitors on the campuses.
The participants expressed satisfaction over the progress of preparations and reaffirmed their commitment to discharge their respective responsibilities through close coordination, ensuring a smooth, transparent, well-organized and candidate-friendly Pre-Entry Test 2027.
Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chancellor thanked the Pro-Vice Chancellors, Deans, Heads of Departments and Institutes, Director Admissions, Director Student Affairs, Coordinator Student Societies, heads of various committees and all concerned officers for their detailed inputs and collective ownership of the preparations. He appreciated the readiness of each academic and administrative unit to contribute within its respective sphere of responsibility and expressed confidence that such coordinated efforts would ensure the successful conduct of the Pre-Entry Test 2027.
