The 92nd Meeting of Syndicate , was held at the Syndicate Hall Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, under the chairmanship of Meritorious Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Vice Chancellor, SALU to deliberate on key academic, administrative, and developmental matters.
The meeting was attended by distinguished members of the Syndicate, including former Federal Secretary Ms. Naheed Shah; Member Provincial Assembly, Sindh, Barrister Halar Wassan; Secretary, Universities & Boards Department, Government of Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Abbas Baloch; representative of Sindh HEC and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Samreen Hussain; and nominee of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Dr. Muneer Ahmed Mirjat, who joined online.
In his opening address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening academic standards, promoting a vibrant research culture, and ensuring effective institutional governance. He emphasized the provision of modern facilities and a conducive learning environment to equip students with knowledge and values aligned with contemporary global challenges.
The Syndicate confirmed the minutes of its previous meeting and formally noted decisions taken by the Vice Chancellor in administrative matters.
During the meeting, the Syndicate approved the appointments of various Heads of Departments and Directors across different teaching institutes to ensure effective academic leadership and administrative continuity.
The forum also considered key measures aimed at enhancing transparency in the examination system, strengthening record-keeping mechanisms, and promoting institutional digitalization. In this regard, approval was granted for initiatives relating to the modernization and improved transparency of academic records and systems.
The Syndicate approved the adoption of policies of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan regarding the appointment of Professor Emeritus, in line with national academic standards.
Cases of affiliated colleges seeking fresh or renewed affiliation were reviewed. It was decided that all such cases be processed strictly in accordance with the Higher Education Commission’s Affiliation Policy 2024, and the affiliation committee of the University will present detailed visit reports after ensuring compliance with the HEC Affiliation Policy 2024.
Furthermore, the Syndicate approved a panel of subject experts for the Teachers’ Selection Board to facilitate transparent and merit-based recruitment processes.
The meeting also deliberated and decided various academic, administrative, and financial matters to ensure institutional efficiency and good governance.
Members of the Syndicate appreciated the leadership of the Vice Chancellor for introducing reforms in academic, administrative, and financial matters. The syndicate expressed satisfaction over the university’s ongoing progress under his leadership. The reforms will have long term impact on in the teaching and learning.
Persons of Eminence, Mr. Amjad Ali Jallalani, Mr. Manzoor Hussain Larik, and Ms. Latifa Khatoon were also present.The meeting was attended by the members from the university, these include Pro-Vice Chancellors Prof. Dr. Syed Maqsood Zia (Ghotki Campus) and Prof. Dr. Wahid Bux Jatoi (Main Campus); Dean, Faculty of Law, Judge (R) Mr. Abdul Rahman Bhatti; Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh; Prof. Dr. Akhtiar Ali Ghumro; Ms. Allah Bachayee Bozdar; Dr. Siraj Ahmed Soomro; Dr. Ahmed Ali Memon; Mr. Irfan Ali Memon; and Mr. Imran Ali Soomro, along with senior officers including Registrar Mr. Muhammad Hassan Halepoto, Director Finance Mr. Nizamuddin Kazi.Inspector of Colleges Syed Muneer Shah, also participated in the proceedings and presented matters related to their respective offices.
