Under the gracious patronage of the Honorable Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah a MoU was signed between Tech Valley, the Science & Information Technology Department (S&ITD), Government of Sindh, and Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU)Khairpur. The agreement was signed by Mr. Umar Farooq (CEO, Tech Valley), Mr. Noor Ahmed Samo (Secretary, S&ITD), and Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk (Vice Chancellor, SALU), representing the three collaborating institutions.
Under this agreement, 1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students of Shah Abdul Latif University to help them acquire Google Career Certificates through Coursera, enabling them to gain AI-driven, job-ready digital skills and connect with employment opportunities through the Career Kamyabi Program.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk said: “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, whose visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to education and digital inclusion have made this transformative opportunity possible for the students of Shah Abdul Latif University. I also thank Mr. Noor Ahmed Samo, Secretary S&ITD, for his dedicated support in making this partnership a reality. Special thanks to Mr. Umar Farooq, CEO of Tech Valley and Google’s official partner in Pakistan, for playing a vital role in bringing this global opportunity to our doorstep. This initiative opens global doors for our students and places SALU on the path to digital excellence.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy, Government of Sindh; Dr. Tariq Rafi, Chairman, Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC); Mr. Abass Baloch, Secretary, Universities and Boards Department; Mr. Moeen Siddiqi, Secretary, Sindh HEC; along with Vice Chancellors of all public sector universities of Sindh, making the occasion a significant and high-profile gathering of academic and government leadership.
This strategic partnership aims to empower youth with cutting-edge digital skills in fields such as IT support, data analytics, project management, UX design, and more — all certified by Google. The program also includes mentorship, soft skills training, and job placement support via the Career Kamyabi portal.
The initiative is a step forward in bridging the digital divide in interior Sindh, promoting inclusivity, and preparing a future-ready workforce.
