The 17th Meeting of the Academic Council of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur was held here at auditorium of Shaheed Benazir Bhutoo Chair . it was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Meritorious Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushik. Federal HEC representative HEC Dr. Amjad Hussain participated online .

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushik welcomed the learned members of the Academic Council in the meeting, saying we must guarantee high-quality, market-oriented education by concentrating on the needs of students, which should have a positive effect on society. To this end, we must develop a curriculum that benefits both society and students, taking into account both market demands and student needs.
Therefore, it is necessary to collaborate in order to present market-oriented disciplines that could give the students the demanding abilities needed in the marketplace. The student would have little trouble finding employment if he graduated from university with marketable abilities, he explained to the meeting.

He further went on to say If you are overseeing the research of MS/M-Phil and PhD students, you should recommend to scholars that they focus on the MDGs and climate change because these subjects will benefit society by solving many of the issues that society faces. Additionally, we may let international organizations like UNESCO know that we are already working on these issues, which could lead to constructive social change.

Additionally, you should endeavor to build linkages with industry, as this will assist our students in locating internship or employment opportunities, he continued.

In addition, he said, "I am behind you to support you if you are doing this." He said that in order to promote high-quality education and research, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) should be signed between faculty to faculty, department to department, and institute to institute that may connect to various institutions in the country and abroad.

Moreover, he reaffirmed that faculty development is his top priority and that we should cooperate and connect with other organizations that help us enhance the skills of our faculty members.

He stated, "I hope that all faculty will work on it, and I want to see research journals in each department." In addition to upgrading the categories of the university's current journals, we also need to commercialize the research that is done here.

So, all of this will help our university rank higher globally. Furthermore, an academic audit is necessary and will be carried out. We're going to set up Google Corner, which will allow us to connect to the outside world, he added.
