VC SALU hosts Coffee Reception to honor Faculty of Pharmacy for achieving HEC NOC for M.Phil. Pharmaceutics program

Vice Chancellor, Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk, hosted a coffee reception to honor the Department of Pharmacy faculty following the HEC approval of the M.Phil. Pharmaceutics program. He appreciated their dedicated efforts and acknowledged the department’s commitment to academic excellence.
The Vice Chancellor especially appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Abdul Sami Shaikh, Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Dr. Jawad Ahmad Khan, and other faculty members including Dr. Mughal, Mr. Sajid, and others for their commitment throughout the process. He also acknowledged the valuable contributions of Prof. Dr. Irum Rani (Focal Person QEC), and the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jakhrani (Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences), Dr. Munir Qazi (Focal Person PGS), along with the rest of the department’s dedicated faculty.
The Vice Chancellor further appreciated the department’s progress in securing earlier accreditation of the Pharm-D program from the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan.
Moreover, he advised the Chairman, Department of Pharmacy, to initiate Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with pharmaceutical industries. He emphasized the importance of such collaborations in aligning academic research with industry needs and providing students with practical exposure and career development opportunities. He also encouraged the faculty to work towards upgrading the department into an institute.
The gathering concluded with a note of appreciation and optimism, highlighting SALU’s commitment to academic excellence, research enhancement, and industry–academia collaboration. This achievement stands as a proud moment for the Department of Pharmacy and marks a step forward in the university’s journey toward becoming a hub of higher learning and innovation in Pakistan.
