PRIME MINISTER YOUTH PROGRAM WEIGHTLIFTING (PROVINCIAL) LEAGUE SINDH COMPETITION INAUGURATED AT SALU
The Prime Minister Youth Program-Weightlifting (Provincial) League Competition organized by the Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in collaboration with Higher Education Commission, Islamabad inaugurated at Syed Qaim Ali Shah Indoor Sports Complex of University. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology & Skills Development, Khairpur and Engr. Javed Ahmed Memon, Director Sports Higher Education Commission, Islamabad jointly inaugurated the event.
While talking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur is catering the academic needs of three provinces. He said co-curricular activities are integral part of the academic life. Healthy mindset could contribute positively in the society. We are committed to provide possible facilities to our sportsmen. Dr. Ibupoto said that the winners will participate at the national level. Dr. Ibupoto commended the untiring efforts of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and HEC, Islamabad for promoting the sports activism across the country. This talent hunt initiative is also a laudable contribution on the part of Prime Minister Office. The Vice Chancellor also extended the cooperation of Engr. Javed Memon for providing his precious time and patronage to promote the sports culture at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur as well as all over the country. Dr. Ibupoto appreciated the teamwork of Chairman Sports Prof. Dr. Syed Baqir Ali Shah, Director Physical Education Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada and his team for organizing this event in befitting manner on the basis Sindh region.
Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh said that sports are vital for promoting the healthy environment at campuses as result the campuses will be tolerant and peaceful. He said we are committed to provide a viable platform for sports at Skills Development University, Khairpur.
Engr. Javed Ahmed Memon said that the purpose of organizing this event aimed at to promote the sports culture and talent hunt. He apprised that the selections of the various teams were made in a transparent manner. He said HEC is committed to provide appropriate funds for the promotion of sports activities across the country. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Office is also highly committed to project the sports culture in the Public and Private Sector Universities and Higher Education Institutes (HEIs). Engr. Javed Memon extended his cordial thanks to Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for hosting this event at SALU. He also extended his special thanks to Executive Director HEC, Islamabad for her timely support and patronage.
Earlier, Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada, Director Physical Education welcomed the guests and participants in the inaugural session. He said the teams from Karachi, Hyderabad Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana Regions are participating in this Sindh League.
