Press Release – Annual Examination-2021 is hereby postponed till further order

The Controller of Examinations, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur has clarified that the Annual Examination-2021 was announced in the month of November. The process of filling of Examinations Forms was initiated through Habib Bank, Konnect and Habib Bank Mobile Banking Fees Collection System. He said the system was entirely online and there was no any human intervention in the process of fees collection. The payment I.D was generated uniquely after registering online at our official website http://exam.salu.edu.pk . It is recalled that the candidate data and passport size photos were pasted by themselves and there were no any involvement of our I.T Section and Examinations Wing. The fee was directly updated by HBL App via out database, which enable candidate to download his or her examinations form after successful payment. It is pertinent to mention that due to differences between two groups of the college teachers, they are not willing to conduct Annual Examinations 2021 and they are creating problems in the smooth conduct of the examinations.

The Controller of Examinations has said that Examinations Wing has completed all the formalities for conduct of Annual Examinations-2021, dispatched Examination material to the colleges at established centers. However, the Examination Wing can help the students to rectify their mistakes made at their end. In the wake of the non cooperation of college teacher, the Annual Examination-2021 is hereby postponed till further order.

TWO-DAY WORKSHOP ON RESEARCH PROJECT PROPOSAL FORMULATION INAUGURATED AT SALU

Two-Day Workshop on Research Project Proposal Formulation organized by the Office of the Research Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in collaboration with Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Islamabad inaugurated at Students Societies Centre of University. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over the inaugural session while Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology & Skills Development, Khairpur was the chief guest. Dr. Jamshed Ahmed from PSF, Islamabad was the guest of honor.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said it is matter of immense pleasure that the team of PSF is practically available to train the Faculty Members and Research Scholars about the Research Project Proposal Formulation. He said there is gap between teaching and research so this workshop will bridge the gap Dr. Ibupoto said I remained Member of the PSF and actively engaged in popularization of science nationally and internationally. At that time in the year 2011 started rigorously on this scheme. He said it is my dream that maximum number of our Faculty Members shall submit their research proposals to this prestigious organization. Dr. Ibupoto said this training will provide a manual and guideline for research proposal submission.

Prof. Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh said that this workshop will equip the Faculty Members and Research Scholars to device their proposals. He suggested that the research could be utilized for public at large because scientific research has great significance and impact on socioeconomic development. He accorded his special thanks to the Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for inviting him as chief guest.

Dr. Muhammad Israr, Principal Scientific Officer, PSF accorded special thanks to Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for providing excellent hospitality. He said University is progressing day by day under the visionary leadership of Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto. He said PSF research grant is related with science, journals, and research labs. He apprised the procedure and mechanism of allocating research grants. The purpose of this workshop aimed at to train the Research Scholars about how to prepare and win their projects.

Prof. Dr. Samina Rajpar, Director ORIC welcomed the guests and participants. She said under the umbrella of ORIC series of workshops and trainings have been convened. She said we are highly thankful to our Vice Chancellor and Chairman PSF for providing a practical platform regarding learning about the preparation submission and winning of different scientific projects.

Mr. Ali Raza Lashari, Incharge Students Societies Centre conducted the proceedings of the inaugural session. The Deans of Faculties, Directors and Chairmen of Teaching Institutes and Departments, Faculty Members and Research Scholars attended the inaugural session.

4TH YOUTH LITERATURE FESTIVAL-2022 INAUGURATED 

The 4th Youth Literature Festival (YLF)-2022 inaugurated at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Prof. Dr. Akhtiar Ali Ghumro, Director Institute of Commerce jointly inaugurated the festival.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari said I am highly thankful to Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor who entrusted me to preside this event. He said that the poetry of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (R.A) has vast and multidimensional societal aspects. Latif Sain is the poet of beauty, nature and struggle. His poetry is related with the masses. He was a great feminist; he presented the plight of women in his 7 Sormis. It is matter of great pleasure that the first session of the panel discussion of festival starts with the poetry of Shah Latif so the purpose of this panel discussion aimed at to aware the youth about the poetry of Shah Latif because it is the need of the time to promote the essence of message of Shah Latif among the youth.

Prof. Dr. Akhtiar Ali Ghumro said such types of festivals encourage students to participate in the healthy activities. The efforts of incumbent Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto are laudable for the youth. The Students Society Centre is a viable platform which provides learning environment for students. He accorded his cordial thanks to organizers of the festival.

Dr. Mahar Khadim, Dr. Allah Wasayo Soomro, Dr. Ruqaya Amur, Dr. Ibrahim Kharal, Mr. Hassan Shaikh, Mr. Khawand Dino Larik talked in the panel discussions on the “Study of Poetry of Shah Latif” and “Sindhi Literature, Prose and Poetry”. They said that Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is the poet of love, affection, harmony and beauty. His message is universal which is based on promotion of international peace and progress. They said that Latif connects the traditional folk tales with the divine love. Latif is regarded as the greatest Sufi poet of the Sindhi language. His poetry pertains to oppressed class and poor people.

Ms. Paras Niaz Khaskheli, Assistant Professor, Institute of English presented welcome note. She said the Youth Literature Festival is intends to organize to inculcating the idea of literature, education and entrepreneurship among the students. The credit goes to our Vice Chancellor for always supporting students of the University; it could only be possible because of his encouragement. She appreciated the untiring efforts of Organizing Committee for organizing this festival.

STUDENTS WEEK-2022 CONCLUDED 
The Students Week-2022 organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur concluded on Thursday November 24, 2022. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided the concluding ceremony while Mir Rohal Khan Khoso, S.S.P, Khairpur was the chief guest. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Amir Hussain Shar, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences and Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Advisor to Vice Chancellor on Academics were the guests of the honor.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said I am immensely impressed from the talent of the students who performed during the week. Co-curricular activities engage students to learn and contribute positively in the society because co-curricular activities train the students about community engagement and confidence building. Dr. Ibupoto said that Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur is catering the academic needs adjoining with three provinces of country with great efforts. He also appreciated the keen interest of the S.S.P, Khairpur Mr. Rohal Khan Khoso who graced this event as chief guest.
Mir Rohal Khan Khoso said co-curricular activities create confidence, competition, co-existence and mutual cooperation among the students. The students of University possess potential and curiosity to learn about co-curricular activities. Mr. Khoso remarked that students are the agents of change in the contemporary trends. He said Sindh is the fertile land in term of intellectual capital, knowledge and has rich culture, traditions and values. He also extended his cordial thanks to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for inviting him as chief guest to grace the event.
The certificates and shields were distributed among the winners of the various competitions held during the Students Week.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Masihullah Jatoi, Director Student Affairs extended his vote of thanks. He appreciated the untiring efforts of the Vice Chancellor for providing feasible, conducive and congenial environment to our students.

THE THREE-DAY BLOOD DONATION CAMP ESTABLISHED AT SALU

A Three-day blood donation camp was inaugurated at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur jointly organized by the institute of Microbiology and Fatimid, thalassemia Khairpur.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto vice chancellor inaugurated Donation Camp.

While talking to the participants. He said in our society blood anemia is increasing day by day. The initiative taken by the Director Institute of Microbiology Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Malik is commendable since this is noble and humanitarian cause. He advised the staff and students to donate the blood at this camp.

Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Malik said, this camp will continue for three days at university to collect the blood for needy patients. He also accorded his special thanks to the vice chancellor who spared his precious time to inaugurate this camp. He also extended his thanks to the administration of the Fatimid Foundation, Khairpur for the establishment of this camp.

Syed Muslim Shah Administrator Fatimid, Mr. Ali Hassan Camp Coordinator and Mr. Muhammad Raheel lab Supervisor were facilitator and organizers of the camp.

FREE MEDICAL CAMP INAUGRATED BY VICE CHANCELLOR AND NATIONAL COORDINATOR IUCPSS, ISLAMABAD  

A free medical camp for flood affected people was set at the main gate of the university. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto Vice Chancellor Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and Mr. Muhammad Murtaza Noor National Coordinator Inter University Consortium for the Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS), Islamabad jointly inaugurated the camp.

Speaking on this Occasion *Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto* said that the efforts of Mr. Murtaza Noor are highly commendable he provided the medicines for the flood affected people because they are suffering from various types of diseases. He said we are also thankful to PPHI team for providing Medical and Paramedic staff who diagnosed and provided them free medical treatment. Vice Chancellor appreciated the untiring efforts of Flood Relief Committee (FRC) of the University engaged in humanitarian and relief activities.

*Mr. Muhammad Murtaza Noor* National Coordinator IUCPSS, Islamabad said, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur is dynamically working under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto. He said it is our social responsibility to serve the community, he added.

Said, sports activism is an integral part of academic activities, because healthy mind could play positive role in the society Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto added that I am highly thankful to Mr. Murtaza Noor who provided the sports material to the student’s society. He said our students possess potential. They participated in the relief, Rescue and rehabilitation activities with enthusiasm. He also appreciated contribution of Mr. Muhammad Murtaza Noor for the capacity building of the youth at the campus.

He said you have to contribute positively in the society and nation building because future responsibilities are related with your efforts. I am very happy that the Student’s Society Center is Students centric because there is full activism among the youth credit goes to incumbent Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto who is providing ample opportunities the students.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari Convener Flood Relief Committee briefed the participants about the details of the flood relief activities conducted by the flood relief committee under the patronage of Pro. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto.

The certificates and shield were distributed among the members of the flood relief committee, volunteer students and others. A Large number of teacher, students, civil society activist attended the event.

SINGING COMPETITION HELD DURING ONGOING STUDENTS WEEK-2022

Singing Competition was held during the ongoing Students Week-2022 organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on Tuesday November 22, 2022. Prof. Dr. Masihullah Jatoi, Director Students Affairs presided the event while Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio, Students Advisor (Girls) and Dr.  Nazar Hussain Kalwar were the guests of honor.

Prof. Dr. Masihullah Jatoi said that this singing competition was part of the students week. We witnessed confidence and knowledge regarding music. Our students possess curiosity for taking part in co-curricular activities. Dr. Jatoi said that we are highly thankful to Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor who provided patronage for organizing this week in befitting manner.

Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio said that I am extremely happy that our girls’ students are also participating with enthusiasm in co-curricular activities. She said this week will build confidence among the girls and boys students.

Mr. Aushaque Ali Jamro from Department of Physics, Mr. Manzar Hussain from Institute of English Language & Literature and Ms. Sania from Department of Pakistan Studies secured first, second and third positions respectively.

Mr. Abdul Ghaffor Soomro, Ms. Shazia Solangi, Mr. Shairf Abbasi and Dr. Irshad Wassan were the judges of the competition. A large number of teachers, students and employees attended the competition.

The Trilingual Declamation Contest was held during the Students Week-2022 organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided over the contest. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Amir Hussain Shar, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences and Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Advisor to Vice Chancellor on Academic were the guests of honor. The topic of declamation contest was “Co-Education and our Responsibilities”.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said I am extremely happy to listen the thought provoking speeches of the students. He said the teacher’s role is pivotal in the co-education because teacher is role model. Since teacher is main pillar of the educational institution because teacher is preparing the students on positive directions. He said co-education is essential system of education which provides equal opportunities to the students but it depends on students’ integrity. He said the Directorate of Students Affairs under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Masihullah Jatoi and Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio is working dynamically.

Prof. Dr. Masihullah Jatoi, Director Students Affairs appreciated the endeavors of the Vice Chancellor for providing a viable platform to students to perform in the co-curricular activities. He also appreciated the teamwork of the Directorate of Students Affairs. He said education is an agent of change which equips the youth with learning capacities.

During the speeches, the students shed light on the merits and demerits of the co-education. They said that co-education provides participatory approach to compete with each other. They said that the tolerant and peaceful culture provides conducive environment for the learning of both male and female students.

In English Language contest, Mr. Abdul Qadeer, Mr. Saifullah Chandio and Ms. Soohan Soomro got first, second and third positions respectively. In Urdu Language contest, Mr. Asad Abbas, Ms. Fatima Saleem and Mr. Bahadur Ali secured first, second and third positions respectively while in Sindhi Language contest Mr. Shahzad Ahmed, Mr. Muhammad Aqib, Mr. Akbar Mangi and Mr. Ayaz Phulpoto got first, second and third positions respectively.

Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada, Mr. Ali Raza Lashari, Ms. Munira Khatoon and Mr. Khawand Dino Larik were the judges of the contest.
